What an action-packed summer it’s been! I’ve been preparing and getting so excited for a truly awesome celebration to welcome in the New Year at my Mindi Abair’s Wine + Jazz New Year’s Eve 2024 . I can’t wait to see so many of you in San Diego enjoying 3 days of over-the-top music, food and wine. And I can’t wait to share the stage with one of my favorite vocalists Rebecca Jade.
If you don’t know her yet, you are in for a real treat. Rebecca Jade absolutely has the voice of an angel. And she’s so much fun on stage. I first met her when my longtime friend Kevin Flournoy invited me to a show. He was producing a “girl group” that included 3 singers. I went to the show to support my friend Kevin and his new group. I told him afterward that the one singer, Rebecca, was so talented… she was a standout. The whole group was great, but she had that “it” factor! Here we are many years later, and she has absolutely come into her own as an artist and singer. She was voted Best Breakthrough Artist by the Smooth Jazz Network a few years ago. She’s going to light the place up for our New Year’s Eve event with her charisma and love and that beautiful voice.
Ask her about her basketball career too… something only a few people know about her… she was given a full basketball scholarship to Berkeley in California. She’s unbelievable on the basketball court and plays with… and beats… the guys! Now that’s cool.
