Welcome to our 3rd annual issue of BEATS! 2022 has been another fabulously busy one with more new music releases than ever before. We saw several veteran artists return to the recording studio and a solid batch of new artists; all represented in our year-end TOP 100 chart.
If anything was markedly different this past year, it was the embracing of vocals. We have two vocal tracks in our TOP 20 for the year and one song that achieved #1 on our chart and both Mediabase and Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay charts. And we have a vocalist for the first time as this year’s Breakout Artist winner. This has truly been an exciting year for new music and singers in our genre.
