Known mostly for his classical and New Age music releases, Michael knew that Jeff Lorber would bring something new out of him in the studio.
Michael's first major release in the Contemporary Smooth Jazz market, he and Jeff Lorber had come up with an idea to create a new sound where both of their strengths came together.
"I wanted to do a melodic jazz record, with Jeff's signature smooth writing and production, so it was my job to contribute the melodies for all of the tunes, and find the place where they could fit with his incredible rhythmic approach to the music."
The writing team was seamless from the beginning, and is evidenced in the first single, "Human Spirit."
