Kenny G’s Bio
When not playing music and sharing his stories and opinions on the radio, there’s that “other job”! Yes, bar none, saxophonist Kenny G is the biggest name in smooth jazz.
He’s the top-selling instrumentalist in history, with more than 70 million albums sold worldwide. He’s a Grammy® winner who wows audiences with his breath control, sweet tone and emotional style. He’s even been named the best golfer in music by Golf Digest magazine.
Kenny Gorelick has been a professional musician since 1976, when he joined Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra. The Seattle native eventually graduated from the University of Washington and joined Jeff Lorber Fusion, led by the pioneering smooth jazz keyboardist. After two albums he went solo, and made his debut as a leader in 1982.
Kenny G’s fourth CD, Duotones, featured the song that would make him a star, “Songbird”, and made him an in-demand guest player among the likes of Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. His recording career has never slowed, with over a dozen CDs to his credit (including four holiday releases) and a Grammy® for composing “Forever In Love”.
His best-loved songs include the aforementioned “Songbird” as well as “Silhouette”, “Baby G”, “Midnight Motion” and “The Moment”. On his 2004 release At Last: The Duets Album, Kenny teamed up with David Sanborn on a cover of “Pick Up The Pieces” and with Earth, Wind & Fire on an inspired version of “The Way You Move”.
Kenny continues to dominate the smooth jazz music scene with new music and as co-host of ” Kenny G and Sandy Kovach in the Morning” weekdays 8am to Noon ET. You can also hear him on the weekends!

Is that photo of you next to Sandy recent? I cannot help but notice a new happy glow about you. That is a good thing.
Sandy seems like a wonderful person to team up with for the Moring Shows! I truely hope your time together in this endeavor will bring more joy into your life Kenny.
You are a driven Man…and will always be reaching for the next goal. Anyone who is anyone knows this…all one has to do is check out your concert schedule….One marathon after another…South America, China, Japan, The United Kingdom, then back to the USA. I wonder how you have held up at this pace for so very longggggg…..
It’s time to put your feet up on the desk, lean back in that great chair and take a long, very, very deep breath, then slowly let all of that busyness passively flow outside of YOU. Life is awaiting you…a newness of life…something good, something meant to happen now.
Let it Be..KennyG.
Take Care of Our Kenny.
Many Luvs,
Julie
My son just turned 21 and I created a video consisting of portrait photos taken at his birth and each year since. I painstakingly rotated, cropped and resized all to synchronize his eyes on every photo then use a fade transition synchronized to your beautiful “Sentimental” from my “Breathless CD. It is so emotional, not just to us but to everyone that has seen it. I have been asked to put it on YouTube but I won’t without your permission to use your music. I’d love to send you a copy so you can see for yourself how the video compliments and completes the senses of your beautiful music. Please reply.
Thanks,
Bob

My mother made us listen to your music as a teenager to show us what “good” music was. After months of listening to the same CD “Breathless” day in and day out, I have truly become “breathless” by your musical talent. I love your music and and now am a constant jazz listener because of you. I am hooking my young son onto your music and others in the jazz arena to show him what “good” music sounds like. Your music is my favorite relaxation music. I put the cd player on repeat and let the evening roll. Continue blessing us with your great musical talents. Much love!
Kenny G,
